What happens if you buy a home with someone who is not your spouse and they go into a nursing home?

I know there are protections for spouses. I am thinking about buy a home with my mom. If something happens in the future, and she needs a nursing home, will Medi-Cal count it as an asset?

I wonder if she has a living trust and if the trust is on the title if she would have to tap into it or not?

Might be worth talking to a lawyer to find out.

You might be able to call one of those radio talk lawyers for an answer?
